Welcome to my website!

I am Professor of Applied Ethics Emeritus at the Institute of Philosophy I of the Department of Philosophy and Educational Research, Ruhr University Bochum.

My areas of research are the normative foundations of rights-based ethics and Kant's moral philosophy. I am trying to develop a rights-based risk ethics and to establish the methodological requirements of applied ethics which is up to the great challenges of our times ("Applied Ethics 2.0 "). In the field of applied ethics, I am currently mainly concerned with climate ethics and climate-related energy ethics.

​Ich bin Professor für Angewandte Ethik im Ruhestand am Institut für Philosophie I der Fakultät für Philosophie und Erziehungswissenschaft, Ruhr-Universität Bochum.

​

Ich forsche auf den Gebieten der normativen Grundlegung einer Rechte-basierten Ethik und der Moralphilosophie Kants. Ich arbeite daran, eine Rechte-basierte Risikoethik zu entwickeln, und versuche, die methodischen Anforderungen an eine Angewandte Ethik zu erfassen, die den großen Herausforderungen unserer Zeit gewachsen ist ("Angewandte Ethik 2.0"). Auf dem Gebiet der Angewandten Ethik arbeite ich zurzeit vor allem zur Klimaethik und zur klimabezogenen Energieethik.
